Walls and Ceilings in Canary Wharf
Walls and ceilings prepared properly and painted to an even, lasting finish, in a single room or a whole home.
(The job)
How we approach walls and ceilings
Most of a good finish happens before any paint is opened. Walls and ceilings are checked in good light, marks and cracks are filled, and the surface is sanded smooth so the new colour sits evenly.
Ceilings go first, then walls, so nothing drips onto finished work. Edges are cut in by hand against ceilings, skirting and frames, then the open areas are rolled.
(What is included)
- Floors and furniture covered first
- Cracks and holes filled and sanded
- Walls and ceilings painted to an even finish
- A walk round together at the end

How it works

Protect
Dust sheets go down before a single tin is opened. Switches, sockets and fittings are masked so paint only lands where it should. Your home stays protected from the first minute to the last.

Prepare
Every crack and hole gets filled, then sanded smooth by hand. Bakhodirjon checks each wall in raking light, so small marks are caught now and not after the paint is on. A sound surface is what makes a finish last.

Ceilings first
Ceilings always come first. That way nothing drips onto a freshly painted wall. It is a small habit that saves a lot of touching up later.

Walls and finish
Edges are cut in by hand, then the walls are rolled to an even finish. Once the last coat is dry, the room is cleaned and we walk round it with you. Nothing is signed off until you are happy.

Questions about walls and ceilings
What do you paint first, the ceiling or the walls?
The ceiling, always. Any drips or spatter then land on walls that have not been painted yet, and the wall colour can be cut in cleanly against a finished ceiling.
How do you get a perfect line between the wall and the ceiling?
By cutting in by hand with a good brush, a steady line and plenty of paint, rather than relying on tape. Tape can bleed under a slightly uneven ceiling and pull paint off when it comes away.
Is it okay to cut in one day and roll the next?
It works, but it can leave a visible band where the cut in edge and the rolled wall dried at different times, called flashing. The neatest finish comes from cutting in and rolling each wall while the edge is still wet.
Do professional painters wash walls before painting?
Where it is needed, yes. Kitchens, hallways and anywhere hands touch carry grease that stops paint sticking. A wipe with sugar soap and clean water before painting is part of good preparation.
What is the hardest colour to paint over?
Deep reds, dark blues and strong feature walls. They can take three or more coats to cover. A tinted primer or undercoat first saves coats and gives a truer final colour.
