Bathrooms and Kitchens in Canary Wharf

Bathrooms and kitchens painted in finishes made for steam, splashes and daily cleaning.

(The job)

How we approach bathrooms and kitchens

Bathrooms and kitchens deal with steam, splashes and daily cleaning, so the paint is chosen for the room rather than carried over from the lounge.

Fittings, tiles and worktops are protected, and the work is planned around a room you still need to use.

(What is included)

  • Careful work around fittings
  • Ceilings and walls
  • Paint chosen for the room
  • A clean, tidy finish

(Method)

How it works

Protect the fittings: bathrooms and kitchens
(01)

Protect the fittings

Kitchens and bathrooms are full of things that are hard to get paint off. So tiles, worktops, taps and units are covered and masked first, every time. Nothing gets near them that should not.

Prepare the surfaces: bathrooms and kitchens

Prepare the surfaces

Steam and cooking leave a film that paint will not stick to. Bakhodirjon cleans it away and fills any cracks before a brush comes out. In a room this busy, that is what makes the paint last.

Paint for the room

Ceilings and walls get a finish made for moisture and regular wiping. We, at Baha Brush, will talk you through the choice for your room. The result stays fresh for years, not months.

Questions about bathrooms and kitchens

Do you need special paint for a bathroom?

Yes. Kitchen and bathroom paint is made to cope with steam and condensation and usually carries an anti mould treatment. Ordinary emulsion soon marks, peels or grows mould in a steamy room.

Can you use normal matt emulsion in a bathroom?

In a well ventilated cloakroom with no shower, often yes. In a bathroom with a bath or shower, use a bathroom paint, because standard matt absorbs moisture and is hard to clean.

Do I need a special primer for a bathroom?

Not usually on sound painted walls. A stain blocking primer helps where there are water stains or old mould marks, and bare plaster needs a mist coat first like any other room.

What do you wash kitchen walls with before painting?

Sugar soap and warm water, then a rinse with clean water. Cooking leaves a thin film of grease on kitchen walls, and paint will not stick to it properly.

Does painting over mould stop it?

No. Mould comes back through paint within weeks. It has to be killed with a fungicidal wash and dried first, and the room needs better ventilation, before an anti mould paint goes on.
